A friend and I had a small getaway to New York City, although it was only 24 hours, we accomplished a lot! Here’s a list of some of the places we visited, along with restaurants and coffee shops.
Hotel
We stayed at The Frederick Hotel, a luxury hotel in Tribeca. While the room was small for 2 people, it worked because we only spent one night in the room. The lobby was beautiful, and the staff were so helpful.

Restaurant
Serafina– I’m sure there are a thousand other Italian restaurants in NYC, BUT when you’ve been on a bus for 4 hours and this restaurant is attached to the hotel…you go there. We arrived around 12, so it was still in time for brunch. However, I needed something hearty, so I had the pappardelle pasta with short rib ragu. It was to DIE for. My friend had breakfast, and got the smoked salmon egg Benedict. Overall 8/10, the food was great and kept us full for a few hours while walking around the city.

RH Restaurant– Tens across the board! From the moment you enter the Restoration Hardware store, you’re automatically surrounded by luxury. I wish we arrived to the RH earlier, so we could walk around and look at the store. The restaurant is on the 5th floor, so the glass elevator gives you a view of the entire store. The staff were incredible, very attentive and nice. We didn’t order appetizers, but our food came out rather quickly. Note, the entrees are al la carte, so sides are additional. I ordered the broiled salmon with a side of charred heirloom broccolini. My friend ordered the lobster roll, with a side of the simple green salad. With a glass of red wine, this was probably one of the best meals I’ve EVER had.

Zutto– I discovered Zutto, this “Japanese American Pub” with a quick search on Yelp. It was a cold snowy Sunday, so we were in the mood for both ramen and sushi. This was about a 10 minute drive from our hotel, and a 8 minute drive to SoHo. So it was literally in the perfect location. As soon as we were seated, our waitress mentioned happy house. Naturally our ears perked up and we ordered half price drinks. For food, I started with the spicy tuna roll. The ramen choices on the menu all seemed amazing, but I decided on the Shoyu Ramen. I loved the mushrooms in the ramen and the boiled egg. We were the only ones in the restaurant, so the service was great. But the real standout of this place was the music playlist. From The Fugees to India Arie, they were jamming in here. I give this place a 10/10.

Coffee

Kaffe Landskap NYC (South)– I stopped on here on a mission for an iced oat milk latte, as I was tired of Starbucks and Kaffe Lanskap didn’t disappoint! My drink came out a few minutes after and I sat at the long wooden table eating my croissant. I could see this being a great coffee spot to bring your laptop and get some work done. Overall it got the job done, so 8/10!

Cafe Aime Leon Dore– My favorite coffee spot to visit when I’m in SoHo. There isn’t indoor seating, but there are a few tables and chairs outside along the store. I always go for the “214” this isn’t on their menu, but its simply espresso with greek honey and oat milk. It’s available to order either iced or hot. This is a pretty popular stop in SoHo, so I recommend arriving early, or be prepared for a wait! This drink is a fave of mine, so I give it a 10/10!
